Covered Wagon Kennel is a very small, "Mom and Pop" owned boarding kennel located in Hutto, Texas, about 9 miles east of Round Rock and 20 miles northeast of Austin. We have been a boarding kennel since 1996, although our experience with dogs goes back many years. We have been "owned" by Newfoundlands since 1977 -- raising them, training them, competing in both conformation, obedience, and water and draft trials. We have on occasion also bred Newfoundlands. We are members of the Old West Newfoundland Club (OWNC), and the Pet Care Services Association. (formerly the American Boarding Kennels Association or ABKA).

1. In accordance with standards set by the Pet Care Services Association we will only take those dogs who have proof of vaccination within the last year for all the major dog diseases including Bordetella (kennel cough). (Dog tags are not considered proof of vaccination)
2. Dogs must come to us free of fleas. If your dog has fleas, please ask your vet about some of the very effective products on the market for that problem.
3. We will not accept vicious dogs. If you think your dog is aggressive, please consider another facility better equipped to handle problem dogs.
4. We will not accept fence jumpers.
